The name Meisterstück was first used for a Montblanc pen in 1924 and represents a masterpiece of a pen. This is the iconic 149 Meisterstück with a new, flexible, nib. The development is based on the successfull Montblanc pens from the 1950's. The line variation is achieved by light pressure and starts at EF (0.3mm) and goes up to BB (1.6mm).

The top of the cap is adorned with a representation of the snow covered top of Europe's highest mountain, the Mont Blanc and the 4810 on the nib represents the hight of the mountain, 4810 meters.
