Product description
Two magnificent dragons adorn this emperor pen, illuminating your life with their magic aura, to bring you happiness and success in business. A beautiful, meaningful object to use without moderation.
Meaning of the design
Mythical creature, the dragon, in Asia, is supposed to have the body of a snake, the scales of a carp, tiger paws, eagle claws, camel head, deer horns, hare eyes, bull ears ... with variations!
Endowed with supernatural powers, the dragon is linked to water. Like the one on the cap, it is supposed to go up in the clouds in the spring, to attract rain, thanks to its magic ball or Cintamani, a sacred stone bringing power and making come true the wishes of its possessor. Also assuming controlling water in the fall, to avoid floods, like the one that lurks in the waves on the barrel, it became a symbol of fertility, wealth and success.
Techniques used
The Taka Maki-e (raised) technique was chosen to accentuate the awesome presence of the two auspicious dragons. The waves and the clouds are treated with silver Taka Maki-e to contrast with the golden dragons. Behind them, the techniques of Raden and Togidashi Maki-e dress up the background with a black lacquer studded with multicolored glitter particles. Raden technique is used to highlight the sacred ball that the dragon holds on the hood.
