Description

Delta continious the Indigenous People series they started in 2003 with the Delta Ingenious People Sentinelesi pen.

The Sentinelese people are one of the most isolated and enigmatic ethnic groups in the world. They reside on North Sentinel Island, one of the Andaman Islands in the Bay of Bengal the Sentinelese are known for their strict isolation from the rest of the world.
North Sentinel Island, covered in dense forests and surrounded by coral reefs, has provided the Sentinelese with natural protection and contributed to their isolation. It is estimated that the Sentinelese people have lived on the island for about 60,000 years, remaining one of the last societies to be unaffected by modernity.
Information about their way of life is extremely limited due to their refusal to interact with outsiders. We know that the Sentinelese are skilled hunters and fishermen, using simple tools such as spears and bows.
Efforts to establish contact with the Sentinelese have been largely abandoned, partly due to their hostility towards outsiders and partly to protect their health, as they are extremely vulnerable to external diseases. The Indian Government has declared the island as a protected area, prohibiting access to preserve the culture of the Sentinelese and protect them from outside influences.
The Sentinelese people represent a fascinating example of unconditioned human survival and a living reminder of the early stages of civilization, remaining intact in an era dominated by globalization and technological change.
ìShrouded in mystery and protected by their island, the Sentinelese are silently bearing witness to the resilience of an ancient civilization, defying the storms of time in a world that continually changes around them."
