The colour is a dark brown with some reddish undertones, and sometimes you get a nice black sheen.

I was looking for a replacement to Herbin's Terre de Feu. Tried Diamine's Saddle Brown first but didn't like it. However, the Chocolate Brown seems to be a better fit. The only negative is that it is a bit wetter and takes longer to dry, but I didn't get any feathering in the papers I use.
