Description

Diamine has been manufacturing ink since 1864 and relocated to a ‘state of the art’ purpose build factory in Liverpool in 1925. Diamine is still based in Liverpool and is manufacturing inks using traditional methods and formulas. Over the years Diamine production methods survived and it symbolizes a very fine quality in fountain pen inks, calligraphy / drawing inks and stamp pads. Due to the very fine quality Diamine fountain pen inks can be used in any brand fountain pen.

I bought Diamine Marine because of the bright sea-green colour. It makes me think of a holiday on a tropical island, while I am writing a text on a serious subject. That is what pens and inks are for: to throw in some levity.
I use this ink in my old Montblanc Slimline medium nib (1970’s) and with cursive italic dip nibs on Rhodia and Tomoe River paper. It behaves very well, even on paper of less quality.
It is a fairly wet ink and has a subtle shading.
