An average ink. Nothing wrong with it but also nothing remarkable.

The colour is a light and a bit plain unsaturated brown with no shading. The ink runs a bit wet with no feathering, which is nice on the majority of the papers I use.

I bought this bottle to test for a brown replacement for the Terre de Feu from Herbin. In comparison, Terre de Feu is a darker red-brown with good amounts of shading and running a bit drier than the Saddle Brown.

My comparison was done using a Lamy Al-Star with a 1.1 stub nib.
