- Koberia Street, the Port Town You Might Stumble Upon -
I was chasing a bird in a little hat when I found myself wandering onto a street I had never seen before.
When I looked up, the bird was perched on a shop sign.
No—looking closer, it wasn’t a real bird at all, but a metal ornament.
And the sign beneath it read:
“Koberia Street – The Port Town.”

Ever since the harbor first opened to the world, this city has welcomed not only the glittering culture of the West, but magic—and things not quite human as well.
Over time, all of it intertwined and took root here.
The place where that mingling blossomed most vividly is this very street: Koberia.
Now it is home to an assortment of curious residents, each busy with their own trade.

It is not a place one can easily find.
But if you ever happen to see a bird wearing a hat, you would do well to follow it.
You just might find the door to Koberia opening for you.

- Hoshi-no-mame Lamp -

There is a man in charge of maintaining and servicing the streetlights along Koberia Street.
He is the proprietor of a small shop called Ryūsei Electric, known for its “Stardust Bean Lamps.”
In his display window, rows of tiny, brightly colored lamps are carefully arranged.

At a glance, they look like miniature versions of the very streetlights that line Koberia Street—shrunk down and set gently behind glass.
And that impression is not far from the truth.
In fact, the bulbs sold in this shop and the ones used in Koberia Street’s streetlamps are the same kind—differing only in size.

Their secret lies in the filament: each one is made from a shooting star.
Unlike ordinary lamps, the light produced by a shooting-star filament carries its own natural color.
If the meteor’s primary component is magnesium, the glow burns blue or green; if sodium, it shines a warm orange.

When you find yourself gazing at one of these tiny lamps, an inexplicable sense of romance begins to stir within you.
You may even feel as though a wish whispered under its glow might come true.

Perhaps it is simply imagination.
Or perhaps it is something within the stardust itself, woven into the light.
