Description

Sailor Manyo Nekoyanagi ink 50ml "Manyosyu" - Collection of ten thousand leaves - is the oldest and most revered anthology of Japan's poetic compilations. Over a period of four centuries 4.516 poems were written by every class of person ranging from Emperors to merchants and farmers.
"Manyo" is an abbreviation of "Manyosyu" and its meaning indicates people of all ranks. "Manyosyu" is often regarded in Japan as a true expression of the Japanese spirit. The themes of the poems relate to love, elegies, celebrations, family matters, traveling, the passage of the four seasons, nature and so on. Flowers are especially relevant in Japanese culture and about 1.500 of the poems in "Manyosyu" cover some 160 species of plants and 50 different flowers.
Sailor has therefore chosen colors based on flowers mentioned in "Manyosyu" for the "Manyo" ink range. Sailor ink can safely be used in all fountain pens.

Sailor Manyo Nekoyanagi is a beautiful Ink.. deep with shades of navy blue that reach into graphite greyish black. Not too viscous .. not too dry ( so good for my Pilot 74 SFM at work.

This is an amazing ink. Flows well. Lots of shading and color variation especially on broad and wet nibs. It's a bit on the pricey side but I can accept that to get a unique look to your writing and art. Curiously has a faint pleasant scent of something that reminds me of watercolors.

I'll definitely look into getting more inks from this line.

Pale and unusual but so pretty
I put this ink in a Lamly fountain pen with a stub nib and I really like the color. With this type of nib, you get some nice shading and the writing is still legible despite the ink being pale.
