The TWSBI Smoke is a 'traditional' fountain pen, which is used with either a cartridge or a converter. What make is different is that the converter which comes with the pen, is a spring converter. The converter is filled by pressing and releasing the back of the converter, when the nib is submerged in ink. A cartrdigde is also supplied with the pen.
Next to the spring converter, the pen can also be used with standard international converters.
