Johann Placed on 21-01-2023 These converters are the perfect addition for Lamy Safari and Al-Star fountain pens. While the capacity is not the same as that of a cartridge, the convenience of being able to fill up from bottled ink without a syringe makes up for it.My one issue is that the most recent version of these converters seems to have had some changes beyond the purely cosmetic (the silver sleeve vs. the old version with the black one), as they don't spin as smoothly as the previous version. I thought initially this was just a matter of use and lubrication with the ink, but after much testing I'm certain that is not the case and there is something different in the design or the materials that affects how smoothly the piston moves in the converter. I also had a chance to compare against an unused older converter of the same kind.This might seem like a minor issue but when you are loading ink any jerking motions could result in a messy outcome.
